    ICMA Assistant's Forum: Preferred Core Competencies of a City Manager/Assistant Manager

    As a continuation of the Assistants Luncheon conversation on “Career progression is a Jungle Gym”, the Assistants Forum will look at core competencies that are critical to being a competitive/successful City Manager/Assistant Manager regardless of the career progression taken.  The panel will include City Managers, a County Executive Officer, and an Executive Search Firm Principal. Furthermore, the panel will include a Council Member as a means to provide perspective of core competencies the hiring decision maker is seeking.  Attendees will take away key core competencies and varying perspectives on how to develop them.
