This is a full-time, onsite Human Resources Generalist Consultant role based in the Providence, Rhode Island area, offered as a 6-month to 1-year contract through MGT, working with one of our valued clients.
- Support HR leadership in the administration of HR programs, policies, and processes related to employment, training, compensation, safety, and employee services.
- Assist in preparing HR documents and reports including EEO-1, affirmative action plans, organizational charts, labor agreements, and employee handbooks.
- Partner with hiring managers and HR leadership to support recruitment, including posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating testing or logistics.
- Leverage web-based technologies and recruiting platforms to source diverse candidate pipelines.
- Coordinate and deliver new hire onboarding and orientations, ensuring compliance with I-9, benefits review, policies, and security/badging.
- Maintain HR files and records, including confidential employee and medical files, ensuring compliance with federal and state labor laws (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.).
- Provide general HR administrative support, including scheduling meetings, compiling HR reports, and managing invoices/POs with accounting.
- Support special projects, events, and collective bargaining preparation as assigned.
- Maintain strong knowledge of applicable employment laws, EEO, affirmative action, and labor relations.
- Ensure confidentiality and discretion in all HR matters.

- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present HR information effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems (UKG Ready preferred), and web-based recruiting platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must maintain security clearance, valid driver’s license, and insurability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of HR generalist experience.
- HR certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP).
- On-site support in a climate-controlled office setting.
- Some local travel may be required for meetings or events.
