WE ARE HIRING! Join our team and become our new full-time CIVIL ENGINEER II, responsible for designing, managing, and supporting a wide range of public infrastructure projects throughout the Village of Niles.

 

Some info about the position…

  • Leads and supports the design and construction of Village infrastructure projects, including streets, sewers, water mains, alleys, stormwater systems, and other Public Works related functions dealing with infrastructure.
  • Prepares engineering plans, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project documents.
  • Manages and inspects construction projects to ensure compliance with Village standards, schedules, and budgets.
  • Provides technical guidance to staff, contractors, residents, and other Village departments.
  • Reviews development plans, permits, and traffic studies.
  • Conducts field work, surveys, site inspections, and utility evaluations.
  • Assists with identifying and preparing grant opportunities for infrastructure improvements.

  • 2023 ASCE Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement ($10-$25MM): Golf Mill Park Stormwater Mitigation

 

Qualified candidates should…

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • Have at least seven (7) years of professional experience in civil engineering, public works design and construction, or a related field
  • Have a valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer from the State of Illinois
  • Have previous project management experience
  • Have a valid State of Illinois Driver’s License

 

Pay, benefits, and more…

  • Hiring range for this position is $101,918 – $142,685 (starting salary is typically no higher than the midpoint and is dependent upon qualifications)
  • Typical hours are Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with evening and weekend hours as needed
