- Establishes estimates, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, performance, and contract requirements.
- Resolves project related issues, disputes, and claims.
- Evaluates and processes change orders.
- Writes task order project scopes for solicitation of architectural and engineering professional services.
- Reviews and negotiates proposed architectural professional services proposals, invoices, and fees.
- Manages project documentation and contractual responsibilities during pre-design, design development, and construction.
- Performs quality assurance/quality control reviews for architectural and engineering design submittals.
- Supervises construction contract work in the field, ensures that the project is constructed in accordance with detailed plans and specifications and contract requirements.
- Writes construction documents for bid letting.
- Performs all close out tasks associated with the completion of all architectural and engineering services and construction contract work on projects assigned.
- Some travel to local project sites is required, although most work is performed in an office environment.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field with emphasis on traffic and transportation engineering.
- A minimum of three years of design and/or construction administration experience.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Proficiency using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
- Must have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Valid State of Illinois driver’s license, or ability to obtain one shortly upon hire.
- An Engineer-in-Training certification and/or professional engineering license is preferred.
- Knowledge of design for vehicle maintenance/industrial facilities, civil sitework, parking lot planning and underground utilities is ideal, with an emphasis on site inspection/observation.
- Prior experience with e-Builder and Bluebeam is a plus.
The full salary range is $70,902-$148,969 +/- DOQ. The anticipated starting salary range is $90,419-$109,936. Following a successful six-month onboarding period, this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule that alternates daily between remote and in-office days.
