Village of Lombard

Position Overview:
This part-time position (up to 29 hours per week) reports to the Fire Department and is responsible for coordinating Emergency Medical Services (EMS) operations and overseeing Emergency Management Agency (EMA) activities for the Village. The position allows for some remote work; however, on-site work will be required for meetings, training, and coordination activities. Approximately 75% of the role focuses on EMS and 25% on EMA duties. Candidates with strong EMS backgrounds and a willingness to learn Emergency Management are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the department’s EMS liaison with hospitals and regional EMS systems
Monitor compliance with EMS protocols, certifications, licensing, and training requirements
Coordinate EMS quality assurance, equipment management, and performance
Support municipal emergency preparedness through the development and maintenance of the Village’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and Incident Action Plans.
Assist with emergency management training, drills, and interagency coordination
Qualifications:

Strong background in EMS operations and familiarity with emergency medical systems
Paramedic license, Nurse or significant EMS coordination experience OR  an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
NIMS and ICS compliance (ICS 100, 200, 700, 800 required within one year of appointment
Willingness to learn and assume responsibilities within Emergency Management.
Compensation:
Starting pay ranges from $39.0650/hr to $49.5825/hr. Part-time benefits
