Assistant Administrator, Lake Geneva, WI (pop. 8,277). Historic, beautiful community with a charming downtown, Lake Geneva is 10 miles north of the Illinois State Line, 75 miles northwest of Chicago and 45 miles southwest of Milwaukee. The City seeks an experienced municipal executive to serve as its next Assistant Administrator.
Lake Geneva is proud of its small-town appeal, historical sites and vibrant residential neighborhoods. The City has a rich history that complements its current attractions of beaches, boating, specialty shops, galleries, golfing and other outdoor activities. The City has a $19M operating and capital budget with total expenditure across all departments excluding utilities. Lake Geneva is a full-service community with vibrant downtown with BID, a Tourism Commission and Visit Lake Geneva, its designated tourism agency.
The City is seeking an experienced, collaborative professional with strong communication skills and a record of collaborative success. The Assistant Administrator will be responsible for performing a variety of complex professional and administrative work in communications coordinating with city departments as well as citywide communication across all platforms. This position will assist in various projects, meetings and presentations with or without the City Administrator.
The Assistant Administrator will also be responsible for assisting with strategic and long-term planning, administration of the City’s IT program and grants.
Ideal candidates will possess:
· A bachelor’s degree in public administration/business, finance, accounting or related field with a master’s degree in public administration, or closely related field preferred but not required
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal administration or related equivalent experience
· Proficiency in a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Adobe, and publishing software
· Ability to effectively write or edit reports and articles to effectively communicate with staff and the public
· Proficiency in managing social media and websites including public relations techniques
· Ability to manage multiple projects and solve a wide range of intellectual and practical problems; and
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.
The Assistant Administrator is appointed by, and reports to the City Administrator. The starting salary range is $100,941 to $106,051 DOQ, plus an excellent benefit package.
