City of Rolling Meadows
The City of Rolling Meadows is seeking a seasonal engineering intern position in the Public Works Department for the Summer of 2026, with potential for additional winter break hours. This position performs engineering-focused work for the Public Works Department. Applicants must be 18 years or older, have a valid class “D” driver’s license, possess a high school diploma, or its equivalent, and be enrolled in a Civil Engineering or related program or have an interest in pursuing a career in civil engineering.
Seasonal Engineering Intern – Assists Engineering personnel under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Public Works/City Engineer or designee, and works with Public Works staff in the field or within the office environment assisting with research, inspections, calculations, office functions, errands, and other duties; performs technical work, field data collection and G.I.S. data collection work for the use in developing engineering plans, projects, and reports; assists with the preparation of various engineering documents; verifies data in the field as necessary; serves as an assistant to the inspectors as needed and performs related work.
This is a temporary position with full-time (40) hours per week for approximately twelve weeks from May through August, and is flexible to correspond to college summer break schedules. This employee will report directly to the Assistant Director of Public Works/City Engineer.
Salary is $15.00 – $21.73 / D.O.Q.
