Salary: $80,000 annually
- Coordinate with the Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other external partners in support of security operations and regulatory requirements.
- Support and, when designated, execute routine Airport Security Coordinator duties in accordance with established protocols.
- Manage routine police and security administrative functions, including scheduling, forms, reporting, and workflow tracking when delegated.
- Conduct routine field inspections of curbside areas, checkpoints, sterile areas, and access points to identify compliance issues and operational concerns.
- Track and follow up on regulatory, tenant, and internal compliance deficiencies.
- Assist with preparation for inspections, audits, testing activities, and corrective action follow-up.
- Maintain and update security standard operating procedures, post orders, emergency checklists, and related security documentation.
- Maintain continuity of Airport Security Coordinator operations during absences or as directed.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders under executive and airport leadership supervision.
- Provide management-level assistance to the police department and support non-operational police coordination tasks as authorized.
- Assist with personnel matters, coaching, documentation, onboarding, training coordination, and basic HR workflows.
- Review and correct shift rosters, training schedules, and coverage plans as needed.
- Conduct quality-control reviews of reports, security logs, and badging office documentation.
- Maintain and update the Airport Security Plan as directed.
- Maintain reimbursable and other agreements with Customs and Border Protection as directed.
- Oversee all aspects of the security guard contract.
- Oversee the badging office and all aspects of the secure identification display area badging process, including application review, media issuance, and audit support.
- Oversee security camera and access control systems.
- Procure department materials and coordinate required security training.
- Create daily, monthly, and annual reports related to badging activities using security and access-control systems.
- Review existing identification system applications for law enforcement inquiries and investigations.
- Track lost badges, collect associated penalties where applicable, and generate required operational training reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and security- or facilities-related management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively with outside contractors and agencies.
- Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions related to secure facilities, construction activity, and operational environments.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions, including the use of a computer and reporting systems.
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain the required airport security clearance for access to secure areas and terminal facilities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds from ground to waist level on a repetitive basis.
- Ability to communicate using two-way radios, mobile phones, and clear verbal and written English.
- Ability to assume operational, safety, and security responsibilities as a representative of senior management.
- Ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and under pressure.
- Ability to organize, direct, and implement plans and programs in an emergency.
- Ability to analyze and resolve work problems or assist staff in solving problems.
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems principles and risk management methodologies.
- Knowledge of airport emergency procedures and practices.
- Thorough knowledge of 49 CFR Part 139 requirements for incident emergency management, training, and exercise planning and operations.
- Thorough knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 1542 and 1544.
- Ability to complete and pass Transportation Security Administration and Federal Aviation Administration employment history verification, fingerprinting, and Criminal History Records Check requirements prior to consideration and throughout employment.
- Valid driver's license and insurability maintained as a condition of employment.
- Professional, service-oriented demeanor.
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a public safety role.
- Experience with the National Incident Management System and the Incident Command System, including IS-700, ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, and IS-800.
- Squatting, kneeling, stooping, and lifting.
- Use of hands and fingers to operate tools, systems, and equipment.
- Some sitting behind a desk and viewing a monitor for extended periods.
- Working in extreme cold for extended periods of time.
- Some work at heights from lifts, roofs, and ladders.
- Prolonged standing and considerable walking.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds from a dead weight several times per day.
- Receives general direction and instructions from a superior with reasonable latitude for the exercise of independent judgment; work is reviewed upon completion.
- Extremes of heat and cold, wind, dust, and dampness may be encountered as work is performed indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Some exposure to dust from sanding and other sources.
- Work is performed across airport facilities, secure operational areas, and related landside environments in the New England Area.
