New Albany encompasses more than seventeen square miles across northeastern Franklin County and western Licking County in Central Ohio. Located just ten miles from John Glenn International Airport and fifteen miles from downtown Columbus — Ohio’s capital city and the nation’s 14th largest metro area — the community offers exceptional connectivity for residents and businesses alike.

Defined by thoughtful planning and intentional growth, New Albany features an integrated network of neighborhoods, parks, leisure trails, and community amenities designed to enhance quality of life. The City operates under a Council-Manager form of government, where the city manager is the City’s chief executive officer reporting to a sevenmember City Council. The city manager appoints and removes the director of law and the director of finance, subject to the consent and approval of the City Council. All other department heads are appointed by and serve at the pleasure of the city manager. Qualifications
  • A minimum of seven years of experience, including a leadership position in a complex community with both a strong residential foundation and a significant commercial component.  
  • A bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, public policy or related field; a master's degree in public administration, business administration, planning or a related field is strongly preferred. 
  • A collaborative leadership style with knowledge of and practice in effective management concepts, principles, strategies, practices, and techniques. 
  • A strong financial acumen with experience in development negotiation, business attraction and retention, and a track record of providing a high level of customer service.
  • A creative and measured problem-solving approach and well developed interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.  
 
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary range is $179,499-224,374 depending on qualifications and experience New Albany offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, employer paid dentalvision, and short-term disability insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and personal daysauto and phone allowance; employer paid life insurance, including dependents; participation in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and Deferred Compensation (457) plan, wellness program, and professional development opportunities.
