Graphic Designer
Primary Responsibilities
• Produce Library newsletters which includes layout of graphics, photographs, text, and mailing
• Create e-newsletters highlighting current programs
• Communicate with various departments to understand their graphic needs for various projects
• Think creatively to produce new ideas and concepts for the Library’s marketing communications which includes posters, brochures, signage, banners, flyers, bookmarks, website graphics, and other graphics and artwork
• Proofread to produce accurate and high-quality work
• Manage inventory of graphic designer’s materials and recommend new equipment, software, and display material needs
• Assist with social media, large scale library events, and attending community events as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• At least two years of experience with designing and laying out marketing materials
• Library experience is preferred
• Open-minded and flexible team player
• Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suites
• Creativity, flexibility, and the ability to create original unique designs
• Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
• Good time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of rules of grammar, punctuation, and spelling
Salary / Schedule
• $21.50-$22.80/hour
• Part-time, 15 hours/week
