Join us as a seasonal worker and become an integral part of the City’s Special Census efforts to ensure an accurate population count.

A Special Census allows for data collection to inform local planning, resource allocation, and eligibility for state or federal funding.

We are seeking individuals who are committed to ensuring every voice is heard and every person is counted. As a Special Census seasonal worker, you will have the opportunity to:

·         Conduct door-to-door outreach in assigned neighborhoods to distribute census materials and engage with residents.

·         Engage with residents and distribute census materials at local businesses.

·         Address concerns or misconceptions about the census and provide accurate information to the public.

·         Help organize community events, workshops, and information sessions to educate the public about the census.

·         Foster positive relationships with the community to encourage participation.

Requirements:

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

·         Availability to work flexible hours.

·         Commitment to upholding confidentiality and privacy standards.

·         Proficiency in Spanish language is preferred but not mandatory.

The prospective applicants must be at least 18 years of age (16 or 17 year old applicants with a high school diploma may be considered with certain restrictions). The role requires a valid driver’s license to participate in field work.

Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and background investigation.

This is a seasonal position. The hourly wage is $16.30/hour.

Positions are available from approximately November 2024 to March 2025. Employees generally will work about 20 hours/week.
