The City of Aurora is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Confidential Secretary in the Purchasing Division.

The Confidential Secretary will perform secretarial duties of varied complexity and provide administrative support for purchasing division with a focus on the informal bid solicitation process.

The duties of this position include but are not limited to: Perform complex administrative duties as required for efficient operation of the office such as mail, payroll, order and maintain supplies; Compose a variety of correspondence including emails, letters, and memos; Research, obtain, organize, prepare, and distribute data, reports, memos, and documents; Provide technical assistance; Utilize various computer programs; Establish and maintain filing system; Assist management with informal bid solicitations and some formal bid solicitations; Answer phones and act as a receptionist; Communicate with and provide assistance to internal City staff and external vendors; Other duties as assigned.

This position requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. and two (2) years progressively responsible secretarial experience.

Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to physical, drug screen, and background check.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Starting hourly wage is $25.51/hr., depending on experience.
