The City of Aurora is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Food and Beverage Manager at the Phillips Park Golf Course.
Under the direction of the Golf Operations Manager, the Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for assisting with the management and coordination of all aspects of Phillips Park Golf Course’s food and beverage operation, operating concession stands, and overseeing subordinate staff.
Other duties of this position include but are not limited to: Maintain a safe and secure facility that complies with health and legal regulations; Assist in food and liquor inventory and purchases; Assist with food and beverage preparation and serving; Assist with and/or attend special Golf events; Investigate and resolve complaints from patrons; Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate possesses the advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the Food and Beverage/Hospitality profession. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours as required including nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position requires the knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to two years of college or business training. Requires a minimum of two (2) years of previous restaurant management experience, Club management, Golf Course, or related field preferred. Requires a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience. Illinois Food Handlers Manager Certification and Illinois Basset Certification required (or must be willing to obtain within 60 days of hire). Requires a valid driver’s license.
Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a physical, drug screen, and background check.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Starting hourly wage is $23.24/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
