Description: The City of Countryside is seeking an Executive Assistant in the Police Department. Under the direction of the Chief of Police, this individual is responsible for a variety of confidential and diverse administrative, secretarial, and clerical activities that support the overall mission of the department. This person reports directly to the Chief of Police.
Requirements: Applicant must be a highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple tasks. Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following: assist the Chief of Police with correspondence, memos and reports, prepare purchase orders, process invoices, inventory and ordering of office supplies, maintain department personnel records, prepare personnel paperwork, maintain and update department’s website, coordinate community programs, attend meetings and prepare minutes. The nature of the work performed requires a professional manner in all dealings with the public and department staff. Successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, math proficiency, and the ability to research, compile and analyze data. Work requires the exercise of considerable judgment, initiative, flexibility, and discretion. Required technical skills include: proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education and Experience Requirements: This position requires a minimum of 60 hours of college coursework; Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or five years of administrative experience at the executive level in the private or public sector.
Salary Range: $56,501 – $78,253 commensurate with qualifications and experience plus excellent benefits.
