The City of DeKalb is looking to hire a part-time, Community Service Officer (CSO).
The CSO is a non-sworn, part-time civilian member of the Police Department and provides a variety of non-emergency services to the community that do not require physical arrest or relate to a crime in progress. The work schedule will be determined by department need and will involve some shift work, weekend and holiday hours or assistance at emergency or planned City events.
Our current vacancy for CSO will be assigned to the areas of parking and patrol.
We require:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous coursework in Criminal Justice preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to become LEADS certified within 6 months of hire
The starting pay will be $22 per hour. This position does not offer any benefits.
