The City of DeKalb is seeking an Account Technician I to join our Finance Department! The Account Technician I is a full-time position represented under AFSCME and requires the ability to work a 37.5 workweek.
The Account Technician I is the first point of contact for the City and assists the residents, community, outside agencies and employees over the telephone and in-person. This position will be responsible for utility billing, licensing, cash receipting and other duties while working under minimal supervision.
We require a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of clerical, accounting, municipal or related experience. Supplemental coursework in office technology and/or accounting a plus. Previous cash handling and/or customer service experience strongly desired!
The starting payrate for the position is $20.34 per hour.
