The City of DeKalb, Illinois invites candidates for the position of Airport Manager. The DeKalb Taylor Municipal Airport (DTMA) is a regional business and general aviation airport with 7,025 foot and 4,201-foot runways. Facilities at DTMA include operations buildings for repair and maintenance facilities, offices, storage, and over 70 hangars. The City operates a full-service fixed base operator (FBO), with fueling, transient hangar facilities, cargo handling equipment, and facilitates aircraft charter, rental and flight instruction. DTMA is capable of being used by a wide variety of commercial and general aviation aircraft, including Boeing 737 and MD80 passenger and cargo aircraft.
The Airport Manager oversees flight operations including pilot relations, hangar leasing, airport marketing and development, and relationships with Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position serves as staff liaison to the Airport Advisory Board. The Airport Manager standard hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00pm with periodic evenings, and weekend duties. This position will be responsible for the supervision of the part-time airport line service staff.
We require a minimum of three years of professional experience in general aviation or a related field and previous supervisory experience. Must be willing to obtain Underground Storage Tank (UST) Cass A/B Operator Certificate within 12 months of hire. Candidates with a pilot’s license, A.A.E. certificate and/or a bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related field are encouraged to apply!
The salary range for the position is $84,994- $104,117-$123,240. Placement within the range will be commensurate with knowledge, skills, and experience.
