The City of DeKalb, Illinois (population 40,290) is accepting applications for Entry Level Police Officers to establish an eligibility list. The DeKalb Police Department consists of 70 sworn and 30 civilian personnel. The department consists of four divisions: Patrol, Administrative Services, Community Support Services, and Investigations. The Department is staffed with a Chief, a Deputy Chief, 4 Commanders, 11 Sergeants, 53 Police Officers, and 2 Contracted Social Workers that responded to 47,749 calls for service in 2022.
