DeKalb, IL – Seasonal – Public Works Maintenance (Summer)

The City of DeKalb is hiring multiple Seasonal Public Works Maintenance employees to support our operations throughout the summer!

Duration:
Mid-May to mid-August (flexible start and end dates)

Responsibilities:
Seasonal staff will support the Street and Airport Divisions of the Public Works Department or the Water Department. Typical duties include:

• Mowing and grounds maintenance of City property
• Painting
• Hydrant flushing
• Other general maintenance tasks as assigned

This is a temporary, full-time, non-exempt role working 40 hours per week during the summer.

Hours:
Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old at the start of employment
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Starting Rate:
$16.00 per hour
