The City of Naperville is looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join its Development Services Team.  The Customer Service Assistant will be part of a collaborative team that performs a variety of administrative, clerical, and technical functions related to development, planning, engineering and transportation services with the goal of providing great customer service to the City of Naperville’s residents and businesses who seek building permits.

Duties
Receive building permit applications and review for completeness.
Perform accurate data entry to process permit applications and records through the City’s permit management software applications, Naviline and Enterprise Permitting and Licensing.
Coordinate technical review of application documents by other City staff.
Schedule inspections for approved permits.
Provide information to answer inquiries from residents and businesses by phone, email, or in-person.
Generate reports and written correspondence.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least three years of experience in municipal government, customer service, construction administrative support, or a related field.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred:
Knowledge of building permit processes and/or building construction.
Experience working in Tyler Enterprise Permitting and Licensing (EnerGov) and/or Naviline.
International Code Council (ICC) Permit Technician certification.
