Wheaton, IL – Plumber

SALARY: $35.82 Hourly
$74,500.00 Annually
DEPARTMENT: Facilities Management Department
HOURS: Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. may be required to work additional hours, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency calls as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Plumber for the DuPage County Facilities Management Department.

This position is assigned to the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) – Local 399 Bargaining Unit Position

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include:

• Installs, alters, maintains, and replaces or repairs plumbing systems or fixtures such as sinks, toilets, faucets, showers, or drains in the County buildings and facilities
• Reviews and monitors the work of vendors/contractors
• Installs, alters and maintains steam, air and hot and cold water lines
• Works from building plans and drawings
• Assists with estimates required for labor and materials on plumbing installation, repair jobs, and scheduled work
• Requisitions and maintains tools, equipment, and related materials
• Provides back-up assistance to other labor trades classifications
• Maintains regular attendance and punctuality
• Availability to respond to emergency calls during other than normally scheduled hours

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:

• Completion of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma equivalent
• One year of experience as a journeyman level plumber

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must possess and maintain in good standing, a valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Must possess a Plumber’s license issued by the State of Illinois.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) backflow certificate within one (1) year of hire.
• Must also possess or have the ability to obtain an Asbestos Certificate within one (1) year of hire.
