GovTemps is accepting resumes from qualified candidates for a 40hour/week position of Payroll and Benefit Specialist at the Village of Brown Deer, WI. (pop. 12,000). Selected candidate will be an employee of GovTemps with services contracted to the Village for a minimum of three months. Position may lead to a permanent hire in a temp-to-hire situation.
The Village is a suburban community located 12 miles north of Milwaukee. The position will process payroll and coordinate employee benefits for an organization of 80FT and 30PT employees.
Position Responsibilities. Primary responsibilities include timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll, new employee orientation, coordination and management of employee benefits including all required paperwork, review and processing of employee workers compensation and disability payments, and providing general administrative and financial service support to Village Manager and Village Treasurer.
Position Requirements. Successful candidate must possess strong attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills along with knowledge of and familiarity of Microsoft work products. Successful candidate will also have at least two years payroll experience and possess a minimum of associate degree in accounting or related field. Prefer candidates with local government experience.
