GovTemps is accepting resumes from qualified candidates for the temporary Town Accountant position for the Town of Hingham, MA. The selected candidate will be an employee of GovTemps with services contracted to the Town. The position is expected to start in mid to late October. Some flexibility with remote work is offered for this minimum three day/week position.
Position Responsibilities. Position will report to the Assistant Town Administrator/Finance focusing on work related to management of the Town’s accounting and financial systems. This includes budgeting, maintenance of revenue and expenditure accounts, payroll and accounts payable, and supervision of four department staff.
Position Requirements. Successful candidate must possess demonstrated experience in municipal accounting with a related bachelor’s degree. Certification by the Massachusetts Municipal Auditors’ and Accountants Association (MMAAA) is preferred as is familiarity with MUNIS which is the Town’s financial system software.
