GovTemps is accepting resumes from qualified candidates for the temporary  position of Senior Manager of Foundation Finance and Operations. Selected candidate will be an employee of GovTemps with services contracted to the Oakton College Education Foundation for an expected duration of five to six months. The position is expected to start in mid-September. After an initial on-site immersion period at the OC campus in Des Plaines, IL a flexible work schedule and hybrid work environment is anticipated for this 24-40 hour/week position.       

About the Oakton College Educational Foundation. OCEF is a not-for-profit charitable organization that supports the mission and vision of Oakton College by raising funds for student scholarships, academic programs, teaching excellence and capital improvements that enhance the quality of education at Oakton.

Position Responsibilities. Position will report to the Chief Advancement Officer,  focusing on oversight of the OCEF’s financial operations which includes the work of an outside firm responsible for day-to-day accounting functions. Other responsibilities include budgeting, investment and treasury functions to ensure compliance with State law and best practices.  

Position Requirements. Successful candidate must be proficient in fund accounting and pertinent GAAP and FASB standards. Candidates familiar with Financial Edge accounting software is a plus. Prior substantial experience in finance manager role a with a charitable organization and/or local government is strongly preferred.
