About the District: The San Lorenzo Valley Water District was established in 1941 as an independent special district. The District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. The District’s boundaries comprise approximately 60 square miles and 190 miles of pipeline. The District currently provides service to approximately 7,900 residential, commercial, and institutional connections. The District owns, operates, and maintains two water systems from separate water sources.
Key Position Responsibilities and Position Qualifications: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the position will be responsible for the overall executive direction of District operations, including keeping the Board informed of overall activities, agenda and budget preparation, and providing guidance and direction to management staff.
The Board of Directors are seeking a seasoned and experienced public agency leader. The position would be ideal for a retired local government executive or professional in transition. While not a firm requirement, the District prefers candidates with experience in water use regulations.
Compensation and Benefits: Anticipated hourly rate is in the $90-$100/hour range. GovTemps offers a contribution to health insurance along with a 3% employer match towards an IRA retirement plan.
