Salary: $65,000 – $90,000 Commensurate with experience FLSA: Exempt

JOB DESCRIPTION

Civil Division Assistant State’s Attorney – The Kane County State Attorney’s Office is accepting resumes from attorneys for a full-time Assistant State’s Attorney position in its Civil Division. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the fields of local government, civil litigation, civil rights litigation, zoning and development, labor and employment, FOIA, contracts, purchasing, public finance, and/or federal and state grants. This position is responsible for providing a full range of legal advice and representation to all Kane County elected and appointed officials, department heads and employees with respect to various legal issues. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with motion practice, discovery dispute, and trial preparation in both federal and state courts, experience in client relations, especially with government officials, and an expertise, or a willingness to develop an expertise, over a range of government law matters. Excellent legal writing and research skills are required. Qualified candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. Salary range: $65,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience.
