The Village of La Grange (pop. 16,321) is seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to serve as its Human Resources Manager. La Grange is a vibrant community supported by excellent Police, Fire, Public Works, Community Development, Finance and Administrative services. With walkable and charming neighborhoods, a robust downtown, over 50 diverse restaurants, numerous independent and national retailers, and a convenient location at the crossroads of La Grange Road, Ogden Avenue, and the Metra BNSF line, La Grange is a destination for food, fun, and entertainment in the western suburbs of Chicago.  
The HR Manager will play a key role in shaping the organization for the future and assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of ongoing human resource policies, programs, and functions. Individuals who know how to build solutions that foster a high-performing organizational culture are sought for this newly created position. Upcoming efforts will include recruitments for Fire Chief and other key placements related to retirements. A new Employee Handbook, compensation, and classification study modernized policies and practices, implementation of HRIS solutions, improved records management, and streamlined business practices are just a few of the important planned projects that the selected candidate will have the opportunity to lead and meaningfully contribute to the organization’s success.

The HR Manager will be the primary resource for the Village’s 88 full-time and 13 part-time employees for consultations regarding employment matters. The position exists within the Administration Department and will be supervised by the Deputy Village Manager. 
The position is a full-time, exempt position, and primarily includes working in the Village Hall during office hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday), with some flex scheduling and remote work possibilities. Occasional evening meetings may be required. The pay range for this position is $107,087 – $129,070 with starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience.   • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, or related field 
  • Five (5) year’s Human Resources Management, preferably in a municipal setting, are encouraged to apply. Master’s degree, SHRM or HRCI certification, is preferred.
