MGT is seeking qualified candidates for Digital Equity Coordinator with Lake County, IL. Successful candidates will be MGT employees contracted to the County. This is a full-time in-person role, with hours expected to be 40 hours/week Monday-Friday. This can be a two-year contract position for the right candidate.      
 
Primary Duties: The Digital Equity Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the overall implementation of the innovative county-wide Lake County Broadband and Digital Equity Action Plan to advance digital equity and close the digital divide in Lake County. This position will support the program manager in the integration of broadband efforts and initiatives to increase the availability, adoption, and affordability of broadband throughout the County. 
 
Essential Functions
The Digital Equity Coordinator may perform a combination of some, or all, of the following duties, and perform related duties as assigned:
  • In collaboration with the Digital Equity Manager, develop, manage, support, and implement the strategies within the Lake County Broadband and Digital Equity Action Plan, with the Digital Equity Coordinator focused on outreach, asset mapping, coalition building, research, and stakeholder relationships. 
  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Equity Manager, internal teams, external partners, Digital Navigators, and community organizations to achieve digital equity goals.
  • Support the county with state-led BEAD Program needs. 
  • In coordination with internal stakeholders, develop and implement a dig once policy based on direction within the Lake County Broadband and Digital Equity Action Plan. 
  • Plan and lead the Lake County Digital Equity Coalition meetings and events and provide regular updates and reports to the Lake County Board. Coordinate and engage with the Lake County Digital Equity Coalition members, board members, county departments, cities, community organizations and other stakeholders during the implementation of projects. 
  • Implement Digital Skills programming in coordination with the Digital Navigator Program. 
  • Represent the County at local digital inclusion and outreach events. Responsible for conducting research to identify digital equity gaps and understand the needs of diverse communities.
  • Lead Marketing Outreach Campaign Consultants to connect programs with communities lacking digital skills, access, and resources. Establish partnerships with community organizations, schools and government agencies in Lake County to address digital inequities.
  • Design and implement programs to promote digital literacy and digital inclusion across Lake County.
  • Assist the Digital Equity Manager with program and event planning, execution and logistics as needed, including the Digital Navigator Program, device distribution events and trainings. 
  • Collect and aggregate data for federal funding reporting requirements.
  • Ensure program compliance with federal grant requirements and County requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • 5+ years of project management and implementation experience

  • Technically savvy and comfortable learning new technologies and programs.

  • Ability to apply principles of equity to program development and community engagement. 
  • Ability to develop strategy, establish standards and track and report key performance metrics and indicators. 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Public speaking skills to conduct stakeholder and public meetings. 
  • Team oriented and committed to maintaining a positive work environment. 
  • A strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. 
  • Grant writing experience preferred. 
  • A familiarity with Lake County and the community services offered in the region. 
  • Ability to travel and attend meetings off-site.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, OneDrive, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and PowerPoint, SharePoint) and Zoom.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
Position Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in general management, business/public administration, political science, information technology or a related field, or a field directly related to the work being performed plus five (5) years of experience working in project management, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the candidate possesses the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties prescribed to the position. Government experience preferred. 

Hourly Wage and Selection Process: $65,000-$75,000 annually. DOQ. MGT employee benefits include up to 5% match for 401(k) retirement plan and comprehensive medical/health benefits package.
