MGT is seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to fill a temporary assignment for Lake County, IL. Selected candidate will be an employee of MGT for a minimum of three months with services contracted to the Client. This position may be temp-to-hire for the right candidate. HR Coordinator/Admin

General Description
 
The HR Coordinator position reports to the Director of Human Resources. The emphasis of this position is customer service and therefore requires a positive mindset. Under general supervision, individuals in these positions must be able to work successfully within a team environment to successfully perform a variety of professional and technical administrative duties across the spectrum of services provided by the Department. This position is non-exempt.
 
Essential Functions
Depending on the assignment, the incumbent may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties, and perform related duties as assigned: 
 
  • Schedules rooms and prepares materials for training sessions and meetings, as needed.
  • Answers the main Human Resources telephone number and responds to inquiries when appropriate.
  • Responds to general inquiries received through USPS and electronic mail on behalf of the department.
  • Manages the AP/AR processes for the Department.
  • Responsible for maintaining the Human Resources materials and data stored on the outward facing County Website, as well as the intranet.
  • Special event coordination, planning, and scheduling.
  • Order office supplies, promotional materials, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and when necessary, focus on detail and detailed oriented tasks.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of trends in Human Resources and the ability to implement new programs successfully.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentially handle information, records and issues.
  • Ability to accept and follow direction.
  • Ability to successfully use Lake County-specific technology and general office software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, logically, and persuasively both verbally and in writing; ability to prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive reports, correspondence and documents.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, colleagues within the team/department and throughout the organization, representatives of other governmental agencies, the public and others encountered in the course of work.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, human resources or a related field is preferred; Between 2 – 3 years of progressively responsible experience in  human resources services or general office administration with the ability to learn human resources functions; Or any combination of education and experience that provides the candidates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties prescribed to the position (above).   
Experience in Workday is preferred, although not required.
Experience implementing a new ERP is a plus.
Supplemental Information

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE POSITION
  • Requires mainly office work, involving standing or walking some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular basis, and high dexterity in operating office equipment, including a keyboard, phone, copier, etc.
  • The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision and the ability to hear and speak to understand, respond to and build relationships with a diverse clientele.
