The McHenry County Divison of Transportation is seeking a full time Planning Liasion to join their team.  The Planning Liaison is the link between CMAP/IDOT to manage the Five Year Surface Transportation Program in excess of $25 million and to assist McHenry County mayors and managers with transportation issues.

Salary: $55,448, – $66,538

Monday – Fridy Hours: 37.50/week

Remote opportunities – will be discussed at interview.

Essential functions

Basic communication link between CMAP/IDOT and McHenry County and 28 municipalities.

General Liaison assistance to the regional comprehensive planning effort.

Program Development to facilitate the Surface Transportation Program.

Program monitoring of state/federally funded transportation projects within McHenry County area.

Technical Assistance supporting transportation issues to CMAP and local government.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Looking for more responsibilites-

Assist the Planning Manager on any issues as it relates to any of the goals and responsibilities of the Division of Transportation. Perform general administrative duties as the primary staff person to the McHenry County Council of Mayors.

And-

On a needed basis the Planning Liasion may provide guidance to planning intern activities related to transportation initiatives.
Determination of intern assistance will relate to project specific work and be made by the McHenry County Division of Transportation.

Minimum Qualifications for this position

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Administration or related field from an accredited college or university –REQUIRED

Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration or related field – PREFERRED

Experience:

1 – 4 years in planning or public administration desirable

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Driver’s License
