The Twenty Second Judicial Court seeks a full time Specialty Court Nurse to perform work by providing nurse/medical related services to program participants.  This position will demonstrate the current capability and judgment to provide competent and appropriate care to all assigned clients that is consistent with community standards of knowledge evidence based practices.

Salary: $66,303 annually

What we are looking for in this position.

An individual who can educate, train and has experience in the Illinois criminal justice system.  Must also be able to exhibit the ability to assess and provide assistance for assigned clients in at least the following areas, depression, anxiety, acute mental illness, interpersonal conflicts, addiction, treatment relating with medications and dual disorders (mental/substance abuse).  In addition to the above, this individual must possess and demonstrate knowledge of agency based, community and other behavioral mental health, substance abuse and social service resources available.

About the Specialty Court Nurse position

The Specialty Court Nurse is responsible for providing services to adults in the McHenry County Specialty Courts including assessment, diagnostic, individual and group therapy, collaboration with treatment providers and case management.  Will engage and support clients who have histories of non-compliance with behavioral health treatment recommendations.  Provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments of candidates for Mental Health, Drug Court and DUI Court programs. Consults with probation, court and community provider staff as needed.  Develops clients input a plan of care to address identified treatment needs and functional deficits.

Other responsibilities

In addition to the above role, the Specialty Court Nurse is responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with referral sources and other community agencies which may include but is not limited to:

Seeking clients permission to keep referral source and other involved agencies regularly updated on the progress and involved in further planning.  Participates in promoting the Specialty Courts through community contacts by the use of free seminars and community presentations.

Maintains services of high quality through ongoing participation in the following areas:

Regular clinical supervision

Clinical consultations and weekly staffing

Participate in any other scheduled program and Specialty Court activities, i.e., All Staff meetings, in-service training, etc.

License/Certification Required

RN required
