Ponce Inlet is incorporated as a Council / Manager form of governmentThe Town Manager is appointed by and answers to a five member Town CouncilPublic services include police, fire, medical transport, public works, planning and development, and cultural servicesIn addition to service operations, the Town Manager oversees all supporting administrative functions for finance, information technology and human resourcesSixty full-time employees are supplemented by an active body of community volunteers

The Town Manager’s routine duties are complex and varied, requiring the ability to anticipate interests, needs and issuesThe Manager will develop and execute plans for the goals articulated by the Town CouncilEffective communications with the Council members, staff, outside agencies and the public are essentialPonce Inlet residents are highly involved in community life and have high standards for the town’s quality of life.  The town growth rate over that last 20 years reflects its desirability to both residents and visitorsTown government strives to balance the demands of growth with the community interests in retention of a small-town lifestyleIn addition, the physical environment is presenting new challenges to address coastal resiliency and the impacts of sea level rise.
Education and Experience
The successful candidate will have: 
  • Extensive knowledge of municipal government administration to include experience with government budgeting, personnel management, service operations, program development and regulatory requirements 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are required to interface effectively with elected officials, staff, collaborating partners and citizens.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years government experience in a managerial capacity with demonstrated success in administration of budgets and resources, staff development, process implementation, program evaluation, and policy development.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is requiredMaster’s Degree is preferred
Compensation:  Current compensation for this position is $150k per year plus benefit packageActual salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience
