We are supporting a city organization with approximately 2,800–3,000 employees as they navigate a departmental transition. The city is seeking an experienced, senior-level HR leader who can provide stability, strategic guidance, and high-level support during this period.
This is a strategic, consultative position. The ideal candidate will bring seasoned leadership experience and the ability to advise, guide, and keep the department operating smoothly while long‑term decisions are being made.
- Provide strategic HR leadership and consultation to city leadership
- Offer guidance on organizational structure, workforce planning, and departmental priorities
- Maintain continuity of operations during leadership transition
- Serve as a trusted advisor on complex or sensitive HR matters
- Be available on a part‑time basis (1–2 days per week) with additional on‑call support as needed
- Extensive experience in senior HR leadership roles
- Strong consultative and advisory skills
- Ability to quickly assess organizational needs and provide steady, informed guidance
- Public sector experience preferred but not required
Assignment Length: 6 months, with potential extension
Location: Onsite preferred; hybrid may be considered depending on experience
Schedule: Part-time, 1–2 days per week, with on‑call availability as needed
