
State's Attorney of Will County
Responsible for providing information, support services, and assistance to victims and witnesses of domestic violence with a victim sensitive focus. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Explain victim rights according to the Illinois Crime Victim’s Bill of Rights, including the right to Crime Victim Compensation • Explain court system and procedures and assists with the completion of Crime Victim Compensation Application • Accompany victims to court to provide emotional support and to be available to answer any questions regarding court proceedings • Act as a liaison between Assistant State’s Attorneys and victims/witnesses • Provide regular notification of court dates pursuant to statute • Assist with drafting victim impact statements when applicable • Coordinate with outside agencies (i.e., social service agencies, law enforcement) and provide resources and referrals when necessary • Review, prepare and maintain victim/witness case files on a daily basis.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field; Prior experience working with crisis intervention or victims of domestic violence. 65 Hour Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Cross Training Certification preferred. Bilingual; Spanish required.
Salary Range $49,115 Grade D, Step 1 or commensurate with Will County experience plus excellent health and pension benefits.
