Sunny Hill Nursing Home

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Generalist, prepares, processes, and manages payrolls for all departments at Sunny Hill. Performs complex and diversified duties following established procedures in support of the Human Resources department operations which include CMS Payroll Based Journaling (PBJ), and updating all wage adjustments, such as Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), Step increases and Longevity in accordance with policy and procedures. Ensures timely and compliant payroll processing in accordance with County policies, Sunny Hill Nursing Home policies, collective bargaining agreements (CBA), as well as State, Federal, and Local requirements.   Responsible for accurately tracking employee work hours, managing time off requests, leave tracking, verifying timesheets, reporting, employee payroll support and ensuring all payroll data is correct.  Ensure all payroll data is correct by calculating and processing employee pay, including overtime, and any adjustments. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive and personal information.

High school graduation or equivalency required. Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job preferred. Prior general office experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office required. (1) year experience performing payroll timekeeper functions, preparing, and processing payroll in accordance with the law required. (1) year experience with payroll systems, such as Kronos, ADP, Velocity, etc. Ability to multitask and proficiently complete the required tasks. Excellent customer service and ability to navigate difficult situations. Successful completion of in-basket payroll/Excel assessment. Valid driver’s license and minimum liability insurance. SHRM, SPHR or PHR preferred. Successful completion of an IDPH background check. Titer Test for Hep B and Varicella required.

Pay: $50,000-$55,000/yr.
