Starting Salary: $64,753 -$74,291 DOQ
Full Salary Range: $64,753 – $93,368
Examples of Duties
- Urban forestry management; analyzing, planting, implementing
- Tree removal, planting and trimming
- Technical rigging and problem solving
- Climbing with the use of rope and saddle
- Identifying trees, insect pests, and diseases
- Learn to identify and care for trees/shrubs common to the region
- Work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Participate in the City’s snow removal program
- Maintenance of the City’s Tree Inventory with TreePlotter software
- Operate the best tools and equipment including chippers, aerial lifts, log loaders and more
Qualifications
- A passion for nature, the environment, and the outdoors
- Preferred: Background in Forestry (educational or hands on)
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Class A CDL – We will pay for the cost of the exam and help you prepare!
- ISA Certified Arborist a plus. We will pay for the cost of the exam and help you prepare if you are not already certified.
- Ability to work alternate work-hour schedules for winter, weekends, and when workload dictates
- Ability to perform work in all weather conditions, including rain and snow
