MGT is seeking an experienced Network and Security Administrator to fill a temporary assignment for the Village of Tinley Park, IL. Selected candidate will be an employee of MGT for a 12 months with services contracted to the Village of Tinley Park, IL. This position may be temp-to-hire for the right candidate. 

Position Overview
IT Director, this position supports the enterprise network infrastructure across the organization. Duties include Under the general direction Of the installing, configuring, patching, securing and documenting enterprise network devices and ensuring enc user network connectivity. The role requires regular interaction with network/security vendors to track new features and functionality, resolution of open support tickets and strategic future infrastructure/security planning.
 
Essential Job Functions
  • Configure operations for fulfilling business objectives and processes networks to ensure their smooth and reliable.
  • Establish appropriate network connectivity of all servers, workstations, firewalls, telephony, and other network devices.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed. use enforcement of policies, procedures, and associates.
  • Develop, implement, maintain, and oversee access based on industry-standard best practices.     
  • Plans for system security administration and system 
  • Assist in developing a disaster recovery and business continuity plan. Identify and prioritize system functions required to promote continuity and availability of critical business processes such that in the circumstance of system failure critical business functions are restored or recovered promptly.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform security and network improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Design and deploy company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, firewalls, switches, UPSs, point to point wireless radios, on premise to cloud connections and other hardware.
  • Monitors system and security logs, activity and network traffic for suspicious behavior; performs remediation tasks as necessary. Performs risk assessments, such as vulnerability and penetration tests, to ensure security measures identify and defend against threats.
  • Creates and manages documentation for reporting or auditing purposes concerning cybersecurity, including cybersecurity incident response plans, after action reports, lessons learned, or other relevant information concerning potential cybersecurity events.
  • Assist with the planning and deployment of server and storage infrastructure.
  • Keeps abreast of new network and security functionality, tools, and techniques.
 
 
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Security or other closely related field and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Information Technology field, preferably in the area of network management, security administration, or operations or Associate's Degree with Information Technology concentration along with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Information Technology field preferably in the area of network management, security administration, or operations.
 
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license.
