Barrington, IL – Public Works Summer Seasonal Maintenance Worker

The Village of Barrington Public Works Department is seeking three (3) Seasonal Maintenance workers to join our team this summer. This is a great opportunity to spend your summer outside and gain hands-on experience contributing to the essential services that keep the Village running.

Duties may include assistance with repair and maintenance of Village landscape, streets, sidewalks, water/ sewer systems, and other tasks as assigned.

Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a High School diploma or equivalent (enrollment in a technical program or higher education is a plus), and hold a valid Illinois driver’s license. This role requires the ability to work outdoors, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely operate motor vehicles and power tools. The schedule is 40 hours per week, generally consisting of five 8-hour days, Monday through Friday, between May-August. The starting salary is $18 per hour, depending on qualifications.  There are no benefits associated with this temporary seasonal position.
