Seasonal Public Works Employees 

The Village of Downers Grove is currently accepting applications for seasonal employees to support the general operations of the Public Works Department. All positions are temporary, beginning in May, and are expected to continue for approximately three (3) months.

Duties: Assist crews in the areas of pavement, traffic, drainage, water, and grounds maintenance. Work activities are outdoors 95% of the time. Generally, the work schedule will be Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age by the hire date. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Current Openings: 

Seven (7) seasonal positions in the Forestry Division
Two (2) seasonal positions in the Streets Division
Two (2) seasonal positions in the Water Division

Salary: The starting wage is $18.50 per hour.
