Seasonal Engineering Intern

The Village of Downers Grove is currently accepting applications for a Seasonal Engineering Intern in the Community Development Department.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
The Village of Downers Grove is currently accepting applications for one (1) Seasonal Engineering Intern to support the Community Development Department.

Duties:
● Under the direct supervision of the Development Engineer, assist with residential and commercial site development permit reviews, site inspections, and erosion and sediment control inspections.
● Respond to phone calls from residents and contractors.
● Perform office engineering work, including scanning and filing of plans/documents.
● Other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 18 years old at the time of application, have a valid driver’s license, have a GED or high school diploma, and have an interest or college major in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Computer skills, including Word and Excel are required. ArcGIS experience is preferred.

Schedule: This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The schedule is approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., to be determined by the Community Development Department. The duration of the internship is approximately three (3) months.
