DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION SERVICES

Elk Grove Village, Illinois, (pop. 33,127), a strategically located, progressive community that is home to the largest consolidated business park in North America, is seeking dynamic, detail and customer service oriented candidates for the position of Director of Information Services. Elk Grove Village is located in Cook and DuPage Counties adjacent to O’Hare International Airport, and is home to approximately 3,600 businesses located in its 5.4 square mile Business Park. The Director of Information Technology (IT) is an executive level position responsible for all elements of the Village’s information technology program, including but not limited to supervising all technology staff. Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Village Manager, the Information Technology (IT) Director performs highly responsible and complex administrative, professional, and technical work developing, installing, and maintaining the Village’s Information Technology resources and services. Services include but are not limited to technology planning, enterprise resource planning (ERP), business applications support, network administration, cyber security administration and controls, data storage and backup/recovery, telecommunications management, data management, and web administration. This position is responsible for all aspects of IT from administration, to financial planning, to directing and supervising activities for the IT Division.

Responsible for the development and maintenance of an Information Technology strategic plan with short-range and long-rang objectives in cooperation with key shareholders from all departments.
Provides and advises the Village on the planning of the Village’s technology infrastructure and services including emergency/disaster/recovery planning.
Researches, compiles, and writes formal reports on a variety of topics involving the Division, ranging from the complex and technical to the simple and routine.
Oversees operation and maintenance of the Village-wide network, including security administration, configuration, environmental controls, data storage, and backup/recovery services.
Works collaboratively with employees in all Departments to support operational needs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience and Training:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Business Administration, or a related field is highly desirable. A Master’s degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of education, experience, certifications and/or training will be considered. A minimum of 7 years of experience in the information technology field is required, with five years (5) of progressively responsible experience in IT systems and planning. Supervisory/management experience is preferred.

Licensures and Certifications:

Required to possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and/or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certifications preferred.

SALARY RANGE: $118,670.50-$164,550.62 (DOQ) HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours/week
