DESCRIPTION:
The Village of Glen Ellyn is seeking to hire a full-time Plans Examiner. The job duties of the position include, but are not limited to, reviewing residential and light commercial building permit applications for compliance with international, federal, state, and local zoning and building codes.
The Plans Examiner must have strong communication, technical, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, residents, consultants, and members of the development community. Candidates should be capable of finding solutions and processing change efficiently, while prioritizing requests and responsibilities with accurateness.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field.
- Two (2) years of architecture, engineering, or construction management experience,
- OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of application.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $72,070 – $100,897 with an anticipated starting salary of $75,000/annually with a full range of benefits offered. Actual starting salary is negotiable, and will be dependent upon qualifications, experience, and professional achievement.
