Finance Intern – Administration & Finance Department
Salary: $19.28 – $26.79 per hour
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Eligible for Overtime)
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
About the Role
The Finance Intern supports the Finance Division by assisting with customer service, financial operations, and accounting-related tasks. This position provides hands-on exposure to municipal finance functions including accounts payable, payroll, cashiering, financial data management, and budget development, while also contributing to special finance-related projects.
Responsibilities at a Glance
- Provide customer service support related to financial inquiries in person and by telephone
- Assist with accounts payable, payroll, benefits, and cashiering functions
- Assist with development and maintenance of the digital budget book
- Perform data entry, filing, and financial record maintenance
- Support annual license renewal processes and related financial tracking
- Assist with development and maintenance of the digital budget book
- Support finance-related special projects such as vendor management, budget development, and financial analysis
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Education: High school diploma with some college focused coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, Political Science, or a related field preferred
Experience: Less than one year of related experience; internships and relevant coursework considered
