Duties and Responsibilities: Responding to parks/path-related inquiries and assisting with building/grounds maintenance at all Village parks. The employee will also perform skilled field maintenance work on all Village athletic fields. This position will be on call for snow plowing as needed. This position will be reporting to the Public Works Facility Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. and will work under the general direction of the Parks Foreman.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Ability to operate heavy equipment including but not limited to backhoes, skid steers, loaders, dump trucks, hauling equipment with trailers, excavators, and street saws.
• Other duties include baseball field set-up and maintenance, soccer field set-up and maintenance, mowing, garbage/trash removal, building maintenance, restroom maintenance, trail maintenance, and general landscape-related maintenance.

This position is a dedicated 365 days/24 hours/7 days a week on-call position that is required to respond to all after-hour emergencies including snow/ice control as needed.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: Must have a High School diploma or G.E.D. Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver’s License is preferred. Applicants with 3–5 years of parks-related and athletic field maintenance experience preferred.

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $58,520-$83,600 depending upon qualifications. The Village offers a competitive benefits package including paid time off; medical, dental, and life insurance; and membership in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF). Residency is not required.
