COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
The Village of Lombard is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of part-time Communications Specialist. The position will assist in the operations of the Communications Division to administer a program of internal and external communications for the Village.
Duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
• Writing and producing content for various communication channels including news items, videos, postings, internal communications, and special events.
• Assists in implementation and variety of marketing and public information activities in support of Village programs, services, activities, and initiatives.
• Produces videos and design multi-media presentations for web and social-media. Oversees videotaping, broadcast, and web streaming of live meetings.
• Helping with the graphic design and management of the Village brand. Assisting in design, development, and production of printed materials. Coordinating photo operations, archives, usage, video, and digital content.
• Assists in coordination of various special events and acts as project manager for selected events and programs.
• Supports website content and design.
• Answers inquiries from the general public through various media by providing information based upon detailed knowledge of Village programs and activities.
This position requires excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills along with an ability to use discretion with confidential information, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and demonstration of flexibility and organizational skills. A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English, Graphic Arts, or related field is preferred, plus two years of related experience in media, marketing, public information, public relations or communications. Starting salary range is $25.54 – $31.04/hour DOQ. Position will remain open until filled. First review will occur on May 8, 2024.
