Northbrook, IL – Plumbing Inspector (Part-time)

The Village of Northbrook is hiring an Inspector in the Development and Planning Services Department. This part-time position will enforce Village adopted building codes applicable to new construction, remodeling, alterations, and housing maintenance to promote safety, integrity of construction, and conformance to community appearance standards within the respective field of plumbing. The work also involves reviewing plans for completeness and conformance to local and state Codes.

This position requires a High School diploma or general education degree (GED), a valid Illinois Driver’s License, and the equivalent of five years of experience in the plumbing trade. Qualified candidates must be a State of Illinois License Plumber, be able to communicate effectively and professionally, to work independently and efficiently, and to exercise considerable initiative. The hourly rate for this position is $42.44. Work hours will be set based on an as-needed basis.
