Village of Oak Park

The Village of Oak Park is searching for a key executive to serve as the inaugural head of the newly created Office of Economic Vitality. This new Assistant Village Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating the implementation of the strategic vision to sustain and advance the economic vitality of Village.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Not a comprehensive list, please see brochure)
– Establish a trusting relationship with all internal and external stakeholders to achieve the strategic plan such as other departments, the community and governmental, institutional, and/or private partners. And also, real estate developers and brokers, property owners, business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs
– Build trust with all internal and external stakeholders, including other Village departments, the community, government, institutions, private partners, real estate developers, brokers, property owners, business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs, to achieve the strategic plan.
– Implement business and real estate development policies, programs, practices, and activities.
– Partner with internal departments to create comprehensive promotional marketing and community partners to strategically promote and maintain a positive image of the Village
– Coordinate community engagement and educational forums on EVO policy, programs, projects, services, emergent economic issues and the status of economic vitality.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public policy or administration, business administration or related discipline. A master’s degree is preferred.
• Eight years of progressively responsible leadership experience in community and economic development directly related to the job duties
• The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) certification is preferred.

Salary Range – $134,310-194,750
Hiring Range -$140,000 – $165,000 +/- DOQ
