The Village of Oak Park, Illinois, a dynamic community, located just eight miles west of Downtown Chicago, is accepting applications to fill the Neighborhood Partnerships Administrator position.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Neighborhood Partnerships Administrator reports directly to and provides complex adminis­trative support to the Assistant Village Manager/Neighborhood Services Director who reports to the Village Manager. The po­sition collaboratively leads, de­velops, supports and facilities organization-wide community and civic engagement strategy through a neighborhood-based lens. The incumbent will lead and manage the operations of the Village’s Neighborhood Part­nerships Division, including over­sight of the Village Hall Welcome Center, coordination of the Vil­lage’s special events permitting process, organizing assigned ac­tivities on an interdepartmental basis, working with boards and commissions, outside agencies and community groups, repre­senting the Village on external boards and committees as as­signed. This role will serve as a Village liaison and ombudsper­son between neighborhood res­idents, community stakeholders and Village departments, actively engaging with the broader Oak Park community.

 

Key priorities for the Neighbor­hood Partnerships Administra­tor include:

 

•       Development and implementa­tion of a comprehensive neigh­borhood-based community and civic engagement program that systematically supports com­munity partnerships, communi­cation, organized engagement, education, conflict resolution, volunteerism and a culture of inclusion and belonging within and across neighborhoods.

•       Establishment and implementa­tion of a neighborhood registry program designed to facilitate systematic communication, relationship building, and ef­fective neighborhood partner­ships.

•       Development of Village vol­unteer policies and program­ming to connect volunteers and volunteer groups with op­portunities in and around the Village.

•       Oversees development and implementation of a Village Government 101 Program in collaboration with Village de­partments and community or­ganizations.

•       Designs and implements and oversees a reimagined Village Hall Welcome Center and Wel­come to Oak Park program.

•       Collaborates with key operating departments including but not limited to Public Works, Police, Development Services, and the Offices of Communications and DEI to advance Village-neigh­borhood connectivity and pro­gramming.

 

Five (5) years of progressively responsible community and/or civic engagement work with at least three (3) years of experi­ence in municipal government, preferably in a council-manager government setting or a related field, and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience, AND equivalent of a bachelor’s de­gree from an accredited college or university with major course­work in public administration or public policy, business adminis­tration, public affairs, public and/or community relations, urban planning, political science, psy­chology, sociology, social justice or a related field. Other combi­nations of experience and/or ed­ucation that meet the minimum requirements may be substitut­ed. Please note that residency in Oak Park is strongly preferred.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The Village of Oak Park offers a highly competitive benefits pack­age that includes Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) partici­pation, health and life insurance, vacation, sick leave and other benefits including flexible work­ing arrangements. The annual salary range for the Neighbor­hood Partnerships Administra­tor is $100,000 +/- depending on qualifications.
