The Village of Skokie, IL is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Assistant, supporting the Village Manager and Asst. Village Manager, along with the Risk Management and Communications divisions. The ideal candidate will provide outstanding customer service to residents and businesses and have a positive, can-do attitude, along with a commitment to public service.

In this role, you will support the multi-faceted functions and exciting work of the Village Manager’s Office. Duties include, but not limited to, serving residents and their needs while mastering knowledge of all areas of local government, developing correspondence and other written materials using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, assisting the Risk Manager with all functions while performing a variety of complex administrative duties requiring independent judgement and demanding strict confidentiality; You will work on a variety of wide-ranging special projects and assist in planning, coordinating and attending Village and community events; Performs other work-related duties, as assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred; Four years secretarial/administrative experience with demonstrated knowledge of office procedures and practices preferred; Strong typing and computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications Excel, Word and PowerPoint; competency in Adobe Writer a plus. Must possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize; Must exhibit strong internal and external customer service skills along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills; Use of discretionary judgment in dispensing information and maintaining confidentiality is essential.

The salary range for this position is $63,943 – $83,649. The annualized starting salary range is $63,943 – $70,497 (DOQ).
