The Village of Tinley Park (population approx. 57,000) seeks qualified applicants for the full-time position of Application Support Analyst in our Information Technology Department. Under the general direction of the IT Manager, this position supports enterprise applications across the functional areas of the organization. Duties include maintaining, updating, configuring, and patching enterprise applications and providing end user support on basic, intermediate, and advanced application support requests. The role requires regular interaction with application vendors to track new features and functionality, resolve open support tickets, and to coordinate and plan upgrades.
This position will work collaboratively to identify areas for improvement and implement and maintain new or improved services to meet changing technical and customer requirements, solicit and apply customer feedback (internal and external) in order to improve processes, products, and services. In addition, this position will write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from non-technical users; exercise the judgment, decisiveness, and creativity required in situations involving the evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria; perform intermediate and advanced level of data analysis including the ability to extract, sanitize, and transform; and stay proficient with current computer software systems, including email, calendar programs, job specific software, and customer service systems.
This position will provide after-hours support for emergencies, scheduled on-call rotation, and occasional weekend maintenance.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required. A minimum of three – five (3-5) years of experience in the Information Technology field preferably in the area of application development, database administration, or application administration is also required. A valid driver’s license is also required.
The ideal candidate will possess an outstanding work ethic, positive attitude, be self-motivated with a creative approach to problem solving. In-depth, hands-on knowledge of and experience with enterprise and desktop applications, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, document management systems, and productivity tools like MS/Office and project management software are required.
Knowledge of and the ability to use troubleshooting principles, methodologies, issue resolution techniques and the technical aspects of automated systems design and computer operations are needed. As well as, principles and methods of strategic planning, performance measurement, and process improvement.
The ability to maintain a high level of communication with Village leadership, supervisors, and staff, working proactively to understand their needs and to align technology-related decisions with the organization’s goals is essential.
The salary range for this position is mid $70,000 – low $90,000 DOQ plus a generous benefit package including health, dental and vision benefits, employer-paid life insurance and other ancillary benefit options. Retirement benefits through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) are provided along with the option to participate in a 457(b) deferred compensation plan. The Village of Tinley Park also provides for paid vacation, personal days, and paid Village holidays.
All employees in this position are required to reside within thirty (30) miles from any border of Tinley Park, within twelve (12) months of employment date. Residency in Indiana in not permitted. No relocation expenses provided or reimbursed.
